Britney Spears is still the No. 1 most Googled subject on the Internet, Lindsay Lohan is proving naysayers wrong by holding her own, and Paris Hilton is out of jail and has a new movie and fragrance on the way. And on DVD, these starlets can be preserved for all time. Lindsay Lohan, who following a series of Disney remakes broke through in 2004’s Mean Girls (on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment), has a new film coming to video called I Know Who Killed Me, a thriller from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, due Nov. 27 (prebook Oct. 25). The $26.96 DVD and $38.96 Blu-ray Disc include a commentary track, deleted scenes and a featurette. Georgia Rule, also starring Lohan, came out Sept. 4 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment and is having a strong run on DVD, debuting at No. 3 on the sales chart and taking in nearly $9 million in rental revenue over three weeks, according to Home Media Research. And for “South Park” fans, the unforgettable Paris Hilton parodying episode is available on South Park: The Hits, Vol. 1 as well as South Park: The Complete Eighth Season, both on DVD from Paramount. Britney Spears, who makes more headlines for her personal life than for her career these days, nonetheless appears on several DVDs. Crossroads, her 2002 film, is on DVD from Paramount, and her MTV Series Britney & Kevin: Chaotic … The DVD & More, is available from Sony BMG/Jive Records. Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice and now wife of soccer hunk David Beckham, will see her film debut come to DVD Nov. 27 with the release of Spice World, from Sony Pictures. The $14.94 DVD includes the Spice Girls music video “Mama.” Orders are due Oct. 25. Michelle Rodriguez, who has nabbed headlines for such antics as driving under the influence of alcohol, appeared on the TV show “Lost” until her character was killed off in the second season, which is available from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. Lost: Season Three comes to DVD ($59.99) and Blu-ray Disc ($96.99) Dec. 11. Tara Reid has taken the backseat in headlines over the past year, but a slew of upcoming films ensure the former “Taradise” star will remain in the public eye for some time. For now, Reid appears in Dr. T and the Women: Special Edition, released in August from Lionsgate, as well as Van Wilder: Unrated on Blu-ray Disc, also released in August from Lionsgate. Earlier this year, 7 Arts released on DVD independent thriller Silent Partner. Pamela Anderson, who started the sex-tape trend in 1998 when her video with then husband Tommy Lee was sold over the Internet, recently made headlines by applying for a wedding license in Las Vegas for her third marriage (reportedly to Rick Salomon, Paris Hilton’s sex tape paramour). She has appeared on many a DVD since her “Baywatch” days. In April, A&E released on DVD Biography: Pamela Anderson, while Fox released Borat in March, which featured a cameo from Anderson. Releases last year include VIP: The Complete First Season, from Sony Pictures, and Comedy Central’s Roast of Pamela Anderson Uncensored! from Paramount. MGM, Fox Release More GiftGiving Fare for the Holidays By Kyra Kudick C L A S S I C The holidays are fast approaching, and MGM and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are preparing for the gift-giving season by packaging classic titles in collections and re-releasing film favorites. The latest sets slated for release are the MGM Movie Legends: Bob Hope Collection and the MGM Decades Collection. Both street Dec. 4 (prebook Nov. 7). The MGM Movie Legends: Bob Hope Collection ($39.98) features seven films spanning the career of the beloved comedian. It includes Alias Jesse James; Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number!; The Facts of Life; I’ll Take Sweden; The Princess and the Pirate; The Road to Hong Kong and They Got Me Covered. For the MGM Decades Collection, the studio has selected three notable films from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Each decade disc is packaged with a booklet by Life Magazine high- VIVENDI INVITES VIEWERS TO JOIN ‘COUGAR CLUB’ By Billy Gil D T V Topless menu guides: That’s the latest gag from Open Sky Entertainment, the producers of National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze 2, in the new direct-to-DVD Cougar Club, distributed by Vivendi Visual Entertainment. Cougar Club stars Faye Dunaway and Carrie Fisher as “cougars.” The term refers to older women who go for younger men. The film is director Christopher Duddy’s first. DVD viewers will be able to select a “cougar” to take them through the menus. After each selection, she performs a strip tease. “It’s also perfectly timed to capitalize on this new trend of younger men dating sexy, older women,” said Soumya Sriraman, VP of marketing for Vivendi Visual Entertainment. Due Nov. 13 (prebook Oct. 16), an unrated version, with the naughty menus, and a rated, topless-free version will each be $26.99 and include a gag reel, outtakes and deleted scenes. lighting historical events from the era, and a CD with the music of that generation. In the re-release category, MGM and Fox have the 20th anniversary edition of The Princess Bride. The Princess Bride streets Nov. 13 at $19.98, and includes a DVD game and three new featurettes. In conjunction with the release, MGM also has launched an online “Ode to Princess Bride” sweepstakes that allows fans to create their own video trailer.
