Also, Mark Bauman was named EVP, reporting to Michael Rosenfeld, president of National Geographic Television. – Billy Gil Study: Broadband Could Usurp TV Viewing By Erik Gruenwedel ith the 2009 transition from analog to digital television broadcasts, a new study suggests upwards of 16 million U.S. TV households could switch permanently to broadband delivery channels in the next three years. The report by Scottsdale, Ariz.based research firm In-Stat found that 30% of respondents would discontinue monthly subscriptionbased TV in exchange for receiving content from the Web. About 42% of respondents said they weren’t getting enough international news coverage on TV, despite numerous cable channels that specialize in foreign coverage. Another 40% said they were unaware of the U.S. analog TV cut off in February 2009.
