For the second consecutive week, Live Free finished in the top spot on both Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine’s video rental chart, with $10.26 million in rental revenue. DreamWorks’ Shrek the Third, distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, held onto the No. 2 spot on the sales chart and managed to beat out last week’s No. 2 rental, New Line Home Entertainment’s Hairspray, to take the second spot on the rental chart as well. L Topping new-to-DVD theatrical releases was Fox’s Waitress, which debuted at No. 3 on the rental chart, with $6.81 million in rental revenue, and No. 9 on the sales chart. Another new release, Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s Mr. Bean’s Holiday, finished at No. 9 on the rental chart and No. 13 on the sales chart. The direct-to-video release Futurama the Movie: Bender’s Big Score made a showing among the top sellers, coming in at No. 11. On the high-def disc charts, Live Free or Die Hard came out on top among Blu-ray Discs, and Planet Earth: The Complete Series, from BBC Video, made a return to the top of the HD DVD chart. Live Free or Die Hard is only available on Blu-ray Disc.
