This biography, which includes interviews from friends and family (but curiously not Cena himself), perfectly demonstrates what makes Cena connect with the common man and makes it hard for even nonfans to not admire him. This set covers his music career and fea- tures some outstanding matches, including a 2006 title defense against ECW’s Rob Van Dam; an “I Quit” match with JBL; and the tables, ladders and chairs match with Edge that kicked off his most-recent title reign. The DVDs also include Cena showing off his collection of classic cars (with a fair amount of expertise), and his “Five Questions” Internet sessions. I THE SHAWN MICHAELS STORY: HEARTBREAK & TRIUMPH Genius/WWE, Sports, three-DVD set $29.95 S hawn Michaels has battled his demons over the years, and this biography covers them all, tracing the controversial champ’s history from his early days with The Rockers through his stint with DX, his drug problems and his discovery of Christianity. The video is a tad biased toward the WWE in regards to the infamous Montreal Screwjob incident (which isn’t surprising), but it’s a great nostalgia trip. Two discs of matches could include a better selection, but the highlights are the 1995 Royal Rumble and a 2005 Rockers reunion with Marty Janetty. These were previously released as part of a larger boxed set in March, but these smaller sets should make it easier for collectors to pick and choose their favorites. The first two volumes include the first 10 Rumbles, spanning 1988 to 1997. The Rumble format — a 30man battle royal in which a new competitor enters the ring every couple of minutes — makes for an addictive and entertaining match, but the quality begins to decline after the early 1990s, once the focus of the cards became less about the Rumble itself.
