The Princess Bride sports a unique blend of comedy, action and fantasy in the tale of Westley (Cary Elwes), who quests against a bumbling threesome of adversaries and a jealous prince in order to rescue his beloved Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn). The 1987 film was directed by Rob Reiner (When Harry Met Sally, Stand By Me) and also stars Fred Savage (“The Wonder Years”), Billy Crystal, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest and the late Andre The Giant. The film has been released at least five times on DVD, including The Princess Bride: 20th Anniversary Edition in 2007. The Blu-ray Disc comes with a commentary by Reiner, another by William Goldman (who wrote The Princess Bride book and screenplay), the featurette “As You Wish: The Story of The Princess Bride,” a Cary Elwes video diary, a featurette on the movie makeup, five more featurettes and Easter eggs.
