Arnold arner Home Video’s P.S. I Love You topped both the national video sales and rental charts its first week in stores, easily beating fellow new release First Sunday from Sony Pictures. P.S. I Love You, which grossed $53.7 million at the box office, bumped another romantic film, last week’s dual chart topper 27 Dresses, from 20th Century Fox, to No. 2 on both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine’s rental chart. First Sunday, with a box office pedigree of $37.9 million, debuted at No. 3 on both charts. I Love You sold nearly twice as many copies as First Sunday their first week in stores. In rental stores, P.S. I Love You generated an estimated $7.2 million in revenue, to $5.6 million for First Sunday. Fox’s 27 Dresses generated an additional $6.1 million in rental revenue to bring its total take, after two weeks, to $13.4 million, or 17.5% of its theatrical gross. Fellow sophomore The Golden Compass took in $5.3 million to bring its total rental haul to $11.8 million, or 16.8% of its theatrical gross.
