The series will adapt the “Street Fighter” comic books from Udon Studios using Eagle One’s animated comic technique, which adds visual effects and voiceovers to the existing comic panels. The first DVD, Street Fighter: Round One — Fight, will be released on Feb. 3, 2009, in anticipation of the Feb. 27 theatrical debut of the live-action film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. – John Latchem www.homemediamagazine.com Viacom Content on CreateSpace By Chris Tribbey SUPPLIER Content from Viacom’s MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VH1 networks is now available on Amazon.com’s CreateSpace DVD on Demand service. The big summer blockbusters that arrive at the multiplexes in May are held for DVD release until October or later to take advantage of the holiday gift-giving season. So everything slows down in terms of theatrical-to-disc windows. When we take a snapshot of “hit” films ($25 million or greater in box office receipts) making the transition from theatrical run to disc before Labor Day in 2008, we see the crop was one of the best in recent memory with 68 films. It was also the fastest group to market in history. — Ralph Tribbey I DVA CELEBRATES 20TH Distribution Video and Audio (DVA), one of the largest buyers and sellers of excess video and audio inventory in the United States, celebrates its 20th year of operation this September.
