The use of aromatherapy can enhance the beneficial effects of virtually every modality represented at this conference. The attendee will learn how essential oils affect human physiology as well as the mental and emotional levels. These are important topics to discuss as they will lead to a deeper understanding of the therapeutic use of essential oils and why the quality of the oils is of the utmost importance. This session will reference several scientific studies, among them clinical research showing how essential oils affect brain waves. Attendees will have the opportunity to blend aromas using essential oil blotters, enabling them to become familiar with the aromatic properties of individual oils. After 28 years in the beauty business, Kimberly Powers went back to school to study botanical medicine and essential oils. She graduated from the Australasian College of Health Sciences with Master Herbalist and Aromatherapy diplomas, then earned her B.Sc. in Herbal Science at Bastyr University.
