State of the art techniques in the following area will be discussed: upper and lower eyelid, internal brow lift, tarsal strip, canthoplasty, canthopexy, chemical peel, ﬁllers and chemical denervation. As cosmetic surgery continues to gain popularity and acceptance, blepharoplasty is one of the most common facial rejuvenation procedures performed. 10:45am – 11:00am • Questions and Answers with Dr. Basil Pakeman Dr. Pakeman is board certiﬁed by the American Board of Ophthalmology and by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada). Currently, Dr. Pakeman serves as medical director for the Manhattan Surgical Center, and is afﬁliated with Manhattan Eye Ear Throat Hospital. Dr. Pakeman received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His post-doctoral training included an internship at St. Vincent Hospital in New York City, an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital and an Oculoplastics externship at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Katz, who has been named repeatedly by New York Magazine as one of the best doctors in New York, received his medical training at McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He completed his post-graduate training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident in Dermatology. A frequent guest on national and international news shows including The View, 20/20, Good Morning America, and CNN, Dr. Katz is a leading innovator of advanced laser technology, smart and power liposuction, and skin rejuvenation techniques. He has published extensively in leading medical and scientiﬁc journals and lectures regularly at medical symposia in the United States and abroad. A national spokesman for the Skin Cancer Foundation, Dr. Katz holds leadership positions in many local, state, and national professional organizations. Having simultaneously cultivated a desire to study medicine, Dr. Madhere matriculated at the Dartmouth Medical School and the Brown University School of Medicine combined program. She also strengthened her foundation in science by obtaining concurrently a Master’s Degree at the Brown University Graduate School. Thereafter, Dr. Madhere completed both a full residency in general surgery and a subsequent residency in plastic surgery at the Monteﬁore Medical Center. Dr. Madhere’s subspecialty training was undertaken in Cosmetic Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Inﬁrmary under the tutelage of some of New York City’s most renowned plastic surgeons. Dr. Madhere’s medical interests are diverse, and include skin care and health and age management. Her practice is aimed also at balancing and integrating these concepts with a focus on aesthetic surgery of the face, breast surgery, body contouring as well as general plastic and reconstructive surgery. Use of New Unipolar & Bipolar Radiofrequency Device for Therapy of Cellulite – Workshop Bruce Katz, MD • Clinical Professor of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Director of the Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Director of the Juva Skin & Laser Center Cellulite is estimated to affect over 80% of women and is a signiﬁcant cosmetic concern for many. Until recently, there has been little to offer in terms of successful therapy for this condition. This session will describe the use of a new combination unipolar and bipolar radiofrequency device (Accent) for the treatment of cellulite and skin tightening.
