You know the work you put in shaping this property will last for years to come and have an impact on hundreds of people every day as they enjoy the surroundings you helped create. During my 20 years in the hospitality industry, I have stayed at or visited many of these hotels while traveling around the world. Here’s one of my biggest observations: Luxury hoteliers are different from their counterparts in other hotel segments. They show passion, enthusiasm and a strong thirst to improve on all aspects of running their hotels. Yes, hoteliers from all segments show these qualities, but for luxury hoteliers, their business becomes a lifestyle, more than just a job. With the inaugural issue of LUXURY HOTELIER magazine, my team hopes to capture that passion and enthusiasm and share it with you in these pages. It is a big world out there, and I know many of you love to visit and learn from each other, but are challenged for time to break away from your hotel.
