Luxury Hotelier - November 2007 - (Page 6) | Publisher’sLetter Constant evolution s I stated in my last column, one of the greatest accomplishments someone can experience is having the opportunity to be part of a team that opens a five-star hotel. On the publishing side of the business, the opportunity to launch a new magazine comes with the same sense of accomplishment. Well, my team did it with great gusto, and the market reacted. It was as if we had found the perfect spot to build that five-star hotel—in a location that cannot be replicated. I have heard from many hoteliers who shared gratitude and praise for Luxury HoteLier. The luxury hotel community finally is united with an opportunity to showcase its best, and to experience it without leaving your hotel is a dream come true. A 757 Third Ave., 5th floor, New York, NY 10017 USA Pictured here is Bob Boulogne, chief operating officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, with me at Bellagio Las Vegas. Though Bob came up through the ranks on the sales and marketing side, he truly understands service. He has sold it in the past, now he has to deliver it as chief operating officer. I hope this trend continues at this level, as Bob has put together an aggressive growth plan for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts that expands its product base without sacrificing service. You’ll see more from Rosewood in upcoming issues. Just as it is with luxury hoteliers—that it is in their DNA to constantly improve on their product—we too will look to improve and evolve the magazine. We are listening and have already taken your comments to heart because you are our guests and we want you to enjoy the magazine and come back month after month to be educated and inspired. This month’s cover story on Paul McManus, chief executive officer of The Leading Hotels of the World, will give you an inside look at what makes the organization tick. I know you will enjoy it, as well as the many articles we have served up. You might notice that the editors include contact information on where to get more information on organizations, products and services within the stories and department features. These links will help you “read and react.” We want to make it easy for you to follow up on the premium content our editors provide. In this issue in particular, you’ll find links to get more information on design firms, spa amenities, in-room sound systems and much, much more. Also, take a look at our editorial and advertising index on page 70. We index the hotel companies and properties mentioned in the issue, along with their Web site and region. For advertisers and other industry suppliers, we provide Web site contact information as well. We want to offer you convenience and peace of mind that Luxury HoteLier is delivering the highest level of service. So enjoy your stay with us, and we will see you in 2008!
