Bookending the Cipriani at the opposite end of Giudecca is the Molino Stucky Hilton (www. hilton.com), which underwent the most ambitious historic restoration in Venice in a long time. The key to managing the Molino Stucky is to focus on two or three of its 13 buildings, unless you’re booking a large group. Think of each one as a small hotel. Our favorite is the Biennale, especially Suite 334, which overlooks the lagoon from the living room and the bedroom. The pool is atop the Arsenale building, which fronts both the Giudecca canal (lagoon) and the Rio di San Biagio. The Giudecca building overlooks the side canal and has some advantages for business visitors— the Skyline Bar is on the roof and the sixth floor is the Executive Floor.
