Luxury Travel Advisor - January 2008 - (Page 62) THE PULSE Lufthansa Expands Private Jet Fleet Demand for Lufthansa Private Jet (www. lufthansa-private-jet.com) service is so strong that the airline is expanding its premium service by purchasing its own private jets, which are expected to go into service in late 2008. Currently, Lufthansa runs the service in cooperation with NetJets Europe, a partnership that will cease in February 2008. “Passenger demand for Lufthansa Private Jet has risen steadily in 2007 and at times exceeded capacity,” Thierry Aninori, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Lufthansa Passenger Airlines, said of the service that launched three years ago. The airline reports a more than 90 percent customer satisfaction rate for the service, which also offers limousine transfers and access to first-class lounges at Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich airports. Lufthansa Private Jet flies to as many as 1,000 destinations within Europe and Russia and also operates individual connections to Lufthansa’s international route network. Members of Lufthansa’s “Miles & More” frequent flyer program are awarded 10,000 miles per flight.
