JETSET REPORT Delta Shuffles Shuttle Delta Air Lines (www. delta.com) felt it was time to tweak its shuttle service; so now, jetters on the New York-to-Washington, D.C. route will get familiar with 76-seat Embraer jets. Delta has ditched the larger 148seat MD-88s, though they will still be used on New York-to-Boston legs. Good News: Customers flying on the MD-88s now have the option to choose between First or Economy Class. The flights will offer 14 “wide and more comfortable” seats in First Class, which also come with an expanded selection of snack options. More News: Delta is on schedule in its rollout of in-flight Wi-Fi. The airline has already wired four of its eight shuttle planes on runs between New York and Boston and New York and D.C. Delta hopes to wire one plane every two to three days until its entire 330 plane fleet is Wi-Fi go. Of course, these are the airlines; Wi-Fi will carry a charge beginning at $9.95 for unlimited access. D & G OPENS IN THE CITY OF ANGELS Shopping should be part of anyone’s vacation. And, if your trendsetting VIPs are headed to Hollywood, they can add D & G Flagship Boutique to their list of must-visit shops. The boutique, developed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in partnership with Dordoni Architetti Studio, opened in December on Robertson Boulevard with a star-studded bang. Some celebs were on point with their ensembles for the event—we hear Big Love’s Ginnifer Goodwin turned heads in a retro black dress paired with an ivory necklace and dark khaki-colored heels—while others, notably Taryn Manning from Hustle & Flow, flopped with a leather jacket and leather gloves with the fingers cut out to match. We are sure your fashionistas won’t be quick to duplicate that particular fashion statement, but in the 6,136-square-foot shop they will find D & G Women’s and Men’s Apparel, Accessories, Beachwear, Eyewear, Jewels, Time and Underwear collections. Note: Although Dolce & Gabbana are the masterminds behind the boutique, don’t get this shop confused with the Dolce & Gabbana stores. The store is open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. PINK ELEPHANT TRAMPLES INTO SÃO PAULO Those in the know in New York head to Chelsea’s Pink Elephant (www.pinkelephantclub.com) when it’s time to let their hair down. Now, the in-crowd has a new Pink Elephant outpost to let loose in. The exotic nightclub, known for its A-list crowd and lavish décor, which seeks to exude the festivities of St-Tropez or Rio de Janeiro, has opened its newest Pink Elephant in São Paulo. Besides serving up a potent mix of potables, those lucky to slide past the velvet rope will find such features as the Dom Pérignon private lounge and even a Christian Dior salon. Luxury Touch: We hear that VIPs can swoop down on the club’s very own helipad. Stay Tuned: More Pink Elephants are expected to open in locations such as Santa Catarina, Florianopolis and Búzio. FAST RIDES AT TORREY PINES There are dozens of reasons to reserve a stay at The Lodge at Torrey Pines (www.lodgetorreypines.com), including its ultrafamous golf course (think Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open in 2008); its dramatic setting above the Pacific; and its fine Craftsman-style architecture.
