Apollo Snaps Up Regent As Line Goes About Business Apollo Management, owner of Oceania Cruises and a 50 percent stakeholder of NCL Corp., has purchased Regent Seven Seas Cruises (www.rssc.com) from Carlson Cos. Regent Seven Seas and Oceania will be placed in a corporation named Prestige Cruise Holdings, and NCL Corp. will remain a separate entity outside PCH. Not much else will change, according to Apollo. Mark Conroy will remain president of Regent, which will continue to operate out of Fort Lauderdale, while Oceania Cruises will remain in Miami, headed by Bob Binder. Both will report to Frank Del Rio, who was named chairman and CEO of Prestige. Other core management and key personnel are staying with the company, Conroy said, adding that existing fares and published schedules will remain in place. In the midst of the transaction, the line unveiled an array of new land programs, which can be done as part of a preor post-cruise experience. The programs will be offered in connection with Regent’s 2008 and 2009 voyages aboard Seven Seas Voyager, Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Navigator. Highlights include a hot-air-balloon adventure from Stockholm to Copenhagen or vice versa and a helicopter flight to volcanic Montserrat.
