Luxury Travel Advisor - March 2008 - (Page 44) FOUR SEASONS guests can enjoy jaw-dropping sights of Las Vegas from Premier Strip View Rooms throughout the hotel (above). CELEBRITY STYLIST KIM VO intro- duced a new salon at the Mirage’s spa (right). spa guests must be at least 18. After a relaxing day at the spa, make sure your VIPs retreat to Palazzo’s 1,400-square-foot Siena Suite, where they can soak in a jetted tub or sleep off a vigorous workout in a plush king-size bed. If space isn’t the number-one necessity, book a Luxury or Bella suite (they span about 650 and 700 square feet, respectively), where they can lounge in a sunken living room in front of a 32-inch flat-screen TV (there’s one in the bedroom, too). Luxury Suites feature one king-size bed, Bella Suites, two queens. Tip: For the best views, request rooms overlooking the Strip, or on the northeast side, facing a golf course. Suites and villas on the top floors and floors three and five afford butler service and access to private garden and pool areas. Palazzo insiders tell us that the best way to book accommodations at the all-suite resort is via the Suite Reservations Department (reservations@venetian. com; 702-414-4100). To book rooms via the GDS, contact Tracy or Rose (gdsagent@vene tian.com) in Resort Services. Director of Concierge Services Tyra Bell-Holland (tyra. bell-holland@venetian.com; 702414-2114) and her staff are eager to assist in planning every minute of your clients’ Palazzo stay, be it tickets to a performance of Jersey Boys or reservations and VIP treatment at Mario Batali’s Carnevino, Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro, Jade Noodles Dim Sum Restaurant or music mogul Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club. (Additional restaurant openings will soon follow, including outlets by Charlie Trotter and Emeril Lagasse.) Alert shopaholics that Barneys New York makes its Las Vegas debut in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, and that Chloé, Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch and Piaget are only a few of the store’s swanky neighbors. Meanwhile, perfect for clients who want to vary their Vegas spa experience, we hear that The Mirage’s spa (www.mirage.com) unveiled an extensive makeover in December. Besides a new fresh, neutral look, additional treatment rooms and a new treatment menu, the resort’s spa is now home to a salon by celebrity stylist Kim Vo, who has lent his expertise to Extreme Makeover and E!’s The Daily 10. Spa Manager Jaime Capler (jcapler@mirage.com; 702-7947472) can suggest appropriate treatments and create a customized spa visit for your client. For room reservations at the resort and for special booking requests, Mirage staff say luxury travel advisors are best served by the resort’s reservations agents (702-791-7444). If your VIPs opt to overnight at The Mirage, Room Reservations Manager Heather Buttery (hbuttery@mirage.com; 702791-7441) and her staff will see to it that they’re paired up with the perfect accommodations. In February, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (www. fourseasons.com) introduced its own new treatment menu. New signature services include the Four Seasons Desert Oasis Treatment (the 80-minute service consists of a full-body salt exfoliation, a massage with essential oils, a warm blanket wrap and a scalp, shoulder and facial massage), the Everlasting Flower Stone Facial (think hot and cool basalt and rhodochrosite stones and a poppy seed exfoliation) and the Desert Flower Stone Massage (an ancient healing practice combining the heat of smooth stones with Desert Cactus oil and an array of massage techniques). Spa insiders tell us the Vitality of the Glaciers facial (Shelly Vincent is an ace at this treatment) is among the spa’s most requested services, and that for full-body treatments clients should opt for the Lavender Dreams, which comprises a fullbody aromatic salt and lavender oil exfoliation followed by a scalp massage using heated lavender oils. Tip: Jason Wade excels at the Tropical Escape body treatment, a full-body exfoliation and hydrating body butter application. Book weekend spa treatments for your VIPs two weeks in advance; weekday appointments can be made with shorter notice. Contact Spa Director Patrick Huey (patrick.huey@fourseasons. com; 702-632-5302). For assistance with booking the perfect suite, travel advisors should call the Four Seasons booking office (877-632-5200). —Lindsay Lambert 44 LUXURY TRAVEL ADVISOR | March 2008 http://www.fourseasons.com http://www.fourseasons.com http://www.mirage.com
