The occasion was for the launch of The Rocco Forte Collection’s two newest hotels, The Augustine in Prague and Sicily’s Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, both opening this year. As Sir Rocco and his sister, Olga Polizzi, who doubles as the Collection’s director of design, each took turns describing their new creations, two strong feelings floated around the room—passion and trust. The siblings opened their hearts to the room, and you could feel their genuine emotion. We all fell in love with their words and enthusiasm for their brand. Too many times, I have sat in a room and listened to sales pitches touting some over-the-top luxury hotel that I later visited and asked myself, “This is luxury?” That evening, I mingled with Sir Rocco’s staff and the same passion he carries is evident with the entire team. That leads me to trust. I can confidently say that I trust Rocco Forte Collection hotels to deliver on its brand promise; moreover, whenever I visit one of its hotels, I feel a sense of excitement each and every time. As you read this note, I am in the Hotel de Rome in Berlin enjoying a cocktail and trusting Sir Rocco’s passion.
