EDITOR’S LETTER Two New Online Venues for You no doubt the resort will prosper under the guidance of its new general manager, Gary Thulander, with whom I’m pictured at left. While we were on property, Gary showed us Villa No. 12, which is still under construction, but promises to be one of the most amazing accommodations in the Caribbean, if only for its exclusive infinity pool. Watch for coverage on all of Anguilla in the next Luxury Travel Advisor. Meanwhile, back on the homefront, we’ve been quite busy, busy working on the launch of two online tools to keep you in the game and au courant. The first is AgentNation, a social-networking site for travel advisors (www.travelagentcentral. com/agentnation). The site allows you to post comments and questions, plus upload photos, videos and blogs that document your travels. It also has its own luxury community where you can communicate with luxury travel advisors about matching the right products for your clients. I encourage you to join today; you’ll find it’s a great tool for enhancing your business. The other new online tool we’ve created for you is an all-new website for Luxury Travel Advisor, www.LuxuryTA.com. The site, launching this month, is designed to bring you around-the-clock luxury news in the same in-the-know style you’re used to reading in the magazine. We’ll provide you with first looks of the top new luxury hotels, as well as a video library showing off the destinations and properties you need to know about. Your colleagues will be blogging about their most recent trips and David Eisen, Luxury Travel Advisor’s managing editor, and I will be filing reports, video and photos from all of our journeys, as well as our thoughts on what’s impacting the luxury travel community. The good news is we’ll continue to deliver Luxury Travel Advisor’s e-newsletter, the Dossier, to you, but now on a weekly basis, instead of twice a month. RUTHANNE TERRERO, CTC Vice President/Editorial Director rterrero@questex.com We’ve launched two new online tools to keep you current, including an all-new website for Luxury Travel Advisor. ’ve been fortunate to travel to the Caribbean a few times this winter. My first trip was to Curtain Bluff in Antigua, where my guest suite overlooked the wilder side of the Caribbean. From my balcony, the view of the azure sea rolling up onto the shore was hypnotically relaxing. I stayed just three days but it felt like I’d been in paradise for a week (see page 12). Another journey brought me to Sheriva, a villa in Anguilla, where I stayed in my own ground-floor pool suite. It was my first true taste of villa life and I have to say, I’ve never felt more like a jetsetter. I approve of the concept 100 percent. We were on the island to test out the new Anguilla Air Express service that now flies between Anguilla and San Juan; it was remarkably convenient and the service on the ground was excellent. During my stay, I scooted over to Cap Juluca, (which allows Sheriva guests to use its beach). Cap Juluca just reopened December 15 after an over-thetop renovation.
