The Regent Bordeaux (www.theregentexperi ence.com) is set to open in the first week of June. We love its location, just opposite of the Opéra National de Bordeaux in the Golden Triangle, which is known for its luxe shopping opportunities. Of the 150 rooms, 22 are suites, several of which serve up private wine bars filled with samples of local vintages. The design here, by famed decorator Jacques Garcia, is über-chic. The Regent, which was meant to be a Radisson until owners realized the renovation had reached ultra-lavish levels, will also house the 12-room Les Bains de Léa Spa with its own line of products. We’re also excited about the indoor rooftop pool and L’Océan, the 80-seat “haute seafood venue,” which will be run by Executive Chef Pascal Nibaudeau. (He served most recently at the two-Michelin-star Brasserie l’Europe in Brussels.) Be sure to book clients into a top Prestige Suite, which has a separate bedroom, living room and its own bar. We also suggest reserving the useful “Wine Prestige Package,” which provides a personal sommelier who will share his knowledge of the customized selection of Bordeaux wines that will be stocked in the bar.
