Men vs. women, owners vs. frontline advisors and—most popular—consortia vs. consortia? Our answer is simple: None of the above. We are blind to travel industry colors; we see only great travel advisors with compelling stories. The rest doesn’t matter. This leads me to my point. As the travel industry is tested this summer amid higher transportation costs and a weakened economy, I am constantly gauging how the industry is faring. Past subjects who have graced our covers agree that business is still good, and attribute continued success to their recession-proof clients and their own relentless obsession with providing unique travel experiences.
