Luxury Travel Advisor - August 2007 - (Page 62) LUXURY TRAVEL EXPO A MEETING OF THE MINDS T 1 he fifth annual Luxury Travel Expo Advisory Board came together on May 17 for another informative and inspiring meeting, held for the second year at the newly renovated Jumeirah Essex House hotel in New York. More than 40 senior-level executives from every facet of the travel industry assembled to share their insight and advice in helping to formulate the 2007 conference program, including top-level representatives from cruise lines, hotel companies, tour packagers, industry associations and destinations. Agency owners and front-line luxury travel advisors were also on hand. What always comes forth during the advisory board meetings is the willingness of the luxury travel community to embrace the show’s mission of providing a stellar educational program. As a result of this year’s Advisory Board’s input, you can expect a top-level confer- ence program that will reflect the feedback of the industry’s very best players. In addition to Luxury Travel Expo’s traditional one-hour seminar format, two-hour workshops will also be provided this year, thanks to a partnership with The Travel Institute. The new format is designed to assist attendees’ learning and to enhance their status as the top luxury travel advisors in the industry.
