Luxury Travel Advisor - November 2007 - (Page 20) DESTINATIONS LAS VEGAS Give the stylish 20-somethings in your little black book the ultimate VIP Vegas experience with access to these hot and happening spots. BY GLENN HAUSSMAN At The Mirage (www.mirage.com), fresh-faced jetsetters head to Bare (www.barepool.com), which oozes the glamour of a laid-back pool party thrown by a Hollywood celebrity. Here, the feeling is distinctly exclusive, and those visiting Bare are guaranteed to feel they are part of the “in” crowd. It’s a sexy, contemporary and chic refuge from the fray of the typical Las Vegas pool scene. What do we love? The pool’s temperature ranges from cool to hot-tub hot depending on weather and time of day, and there’s a dipping pool with a see-through wall. Note: Advise more modest clients that European-style (read: topless) sunbathing is part of the experience. TAO Beach (www.taolasvegas.com) is The Venetian’s (www.venetian.com) 18,000-square- foot Asian-inspired swimming pool complex. It’s an extension of the popular nightclub, which is directly beneath TAO Beach and exudes its own infectious energy. Why do we love it here? TAO Beach is more laid-back and less pretentious than some other Las Vegas venues, and we found it a little more approachable for more reserved guests. As the sun sets, the music gets livelier and the facility becomes an outdoor nightclub featuring a floating dance floor and 14-foot-high fire columns. The nightclub is among the largest in town, so be sure to get your clients a well-located table on the main floor. Contact the director of VIP services for TAO Beach, Chad Saunders, or Bob Shindelar for the nightclub (702-388-8588). PURE is a big hit with celebrities such as Paris Hilton and provides beautiful views of the Strip. 20 LUXURY TRAVEL ADVISOR | November 2007 http://www.mirage.com http://www.barepool.com http://www.taolasvegas.com http://www.venetian.com
