BY PAMELA MCCOURT Sri Lanka is an island with so many fascinating angles that it’s difficult to fit them all into one visit. There are, of course, the must-sees, like the UNESCO heritage-listed ancient capitals, the modern capital, Colombo, the nature reserves and the golden beaches. We visited four properties that represent the country’s most appealing attributes: CASA Colombo for heritage, Amangalla for history, Angsana’s Deer Park Hotel for nature and Amanwella for sweeping, golden beaches. CASA Colombo’s (www.casa colombo.com) elegant Moorish façade does not prepare guests for the surprises within.
