The hotel, situated in a seven-hectare development site six miles from Faro International Airport, will be close to some of the world’s most famous golf courses when it opens in 2010. www.conradhotels.com Langham Hotels International announced the launch of its first resort in Thailand, the Langham Place Eco Resort & Spa, located in Rawi Warin, Koh Lanta, Krabi, following a management contract signed with Rawi Warin Resort & Spa Company Limited. The resort's 185 rooms and villas extend from the beach up a hillside overlooking Klong Tob Bay; villas have their own private plunge pools. www.langhamhotels.com Shan Kanagasingham (shan.kanagas ingham@thetidesresorts.com) has been named general manager of The Tides South Beach, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive redesign. Kanagasingham’s 14 years of luxury hotel and resort experience include posts at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Raffles L ’Ermitage in Beverly Hills and Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts. www.korhotelgroup.com Raffles Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Royal Monceau Pte Ltd to manage the historic Le Royal Monceau hotel in Paris. The hotel will join the Raffles Hotels & Resorts collection of luxury properties in winter 2008. The 152-room Le Royal Monceau is scheduled to go an intensive refurbishment in 2008 under the creative eye of renowned French designer Philippe Starck. www.raffles.com a noted yachting destination on the Turkish Riviera. Insiders at Banyan Tree predict that the resort will cater to the growing demand for luxury spas in Turkey. Covering approximately 45 acres, the property, whose opening date is still TBD, will offer a unique, all-pool villa resort, with unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea.
