Luxury Travel Advisor - December 2007 - (Page 41) TAKEOVER HOTELS Cotton House A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Cotton House (www.cottonhouse.net) is on Mustique, a private island estate in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the West Indies. Carved from what was an 18th-century coral warehouse and sugar mill, this tony resort, which can be bought out by groups, has 17 rooms and suites, including a two-bedroom residence with its own swimming pool. All rooms have beds dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets and come with all the latest technology; many have private plunge pools. The favored accommodation is the Sea Front Master overlooking the Caribbean. Gorgeous sunsets can be enjoyed from both the private plunge pool and fourposter king bed; other best-view rooms include the other Sea Front rooms, which also have private plunge pools. Duplex Suites are terrific for families because they have two bathrooms, lots of outdoor space and private plunge pools. Another option for a group bunking together is the butlerserviced Cotton Hill Residence. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this two-bedroom, two-bath residence comes with a large sitting room, dining room, outdoor gazebo and large swimming pool. The resort requires that bookings be made with a phone call. Contact General Manager Pippa Mustique ents schedule workout time well in advance. A popular dining spot for locals, we hear that reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance during the high season. The Beach Café is the more casual eatery for lunch serving grilled fish, seafood and pizza. Chief Concierge Curlene Fraser (frontdesk@cottonhouse. net) and his team can arrange lobster barbecues, day trips to the Tobago Cays via a catamaran, beachfront weddings or anything else your VIP requires. — Lauren Price Ona Williamson (pippaona@cot tonhouse.net; 784-456-4777).
