Luxury Travel Advisor - December 2007 - (Page 9) We scout out some of the Aloha State’s most lavish villas and suites, from the classic to the contemporary. BY MARK ROGERS For your VIPs visiting the Big Island, we have the inside word that the absolute best villa at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai (www.fourseasons.com/hualalai) is its three-bedroom Presidential Villa. The 4,883-square-foot oceanfront villa is set apart in its own freestanding, private bungalow at the south end of the Four Seasons property. Because the suite is right on the beach, literally steps from the shore, guests get treated to magnificent sunset views. The villa features a large living room, furnished lanai, elegant dining area and three full bathrooms, each with a deep soaking tub and separate shower. Furnishings are natural bamboo, koa wood and rattan; a notable art piece in the villa is a 1918 Hawaiian quilt made by a Molokai resident. There are several nice touches that elevate the guest experience—the master bathroom and third bathroom have outdoor showers, there’s a private whirlpool on the lanai and there’s even a telescope in the villa so guests can stargaze. Perks include a reserved cabana at Sea Shell or Beach Tree pool, tropical floral arrangements throughout the villa and a THE FOUR SEASONS’S PRESIDENTIAL VILLA (left) contains two bed- rooms and occupies its own private, oceanfront bungalow. HALEKULANI’S POOL overlooks the beach and the Pacific Ocean (above). www.luxuryta.com December 2007 | LUXURY TRAVEL ADVISOR 9 http://www.fourseasons.com/hualalai http://www.luxuryta.com
