TRENDWATCH China’s Tourism Looking Up The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has released a report regarding the future growth and development of China’s tourism industry. The report, “Realising China’s Tourism Potential, Recommendations for Future Development,” indicates record growth in tourism revenue for the country over the past two decades; its current worth is estimated to be more than $100 billion (U.S.) a year. Inbound arrivals were recorded at about 132 million visitors in 2007, with the number expected to grow to 163 million within the next three years.
