Expedia recently released the results of a global survey about tourist traits. More than 4,000 hoteliers from around the world were asked their opinions about international guests. Where Americans are concerned, the bad news is that Americans are considered noisy, sloppy and unfashionable. They also complain about their accommodations. The good news is Americans came out on top as travelers who put in the most effort to learn the language, try the local cuisine and learn about the local culture. In the end, the Japanese came in as the number-one travelers; Americans came in at number 11.
