The less-populated Aspen Highlands offers an extreme skiing experience, complete with 18 fresh acres of skiable terrain in the Deep Temerity area called Canopy Cruiser. At family-friendly Snowmass, the Aspen Skiing Company is investing billions of dollars building a new base area, introducing five new restaurants this season as well as Sheer Bliss — a new quad chairlift spanning 2,212 vertical feet, 90 condominiums, and the Snowmass Conference Center. The Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center, a $17 million facility featuring children’s ski and snowboard schools, daycare, a family-friendly climbing gym, teen activities, kids’ retail, and hands-on interactive activities, opened last season.
