Every donation makes a difference the lush rainforests of Brazil, dotted along the Amazon River and high atop 25 to 30 meter palms, lives the açai berry. This purple berry, regarded as one of nature’s perfect foods, is the premier ingredient in MonaVie. When Dallin Larsen, Founder and President of MonaVie, and his wife Karree started seeing success in the açai berry, they wanted a chance to give back to the place where it is harvested. The Larsen’s founded the M.O.R.E. Project an acronym for MonaVie’s Operation REscue. The project, a non-profit organization and MonaVie’s principle philanthropy focus, aids indigent Brazilians living in extreme poverty in slums called favelas. With 25 percent of the country’s population living in slums, MonaVie has chosen to focus on one particular favela. Vila Ipiranga is located just outside of Rio de Janeiro and is home to about 100,000 people. MonaVie, being the main corporate sponsor, wouldn’t be able to achieve their goals without the generous donations of MonaVie and R3Global distributors, executives and private donors. Always adhering to the philosophy of love and compassion, the main focus of the project is to improve the lives of children, adults and families living in these mountainous villages. The M.O.R.E. Project provides healthy meals, dental care and after-school activities including writing, math, art and music. It also teaches vocational skills like sewing, jewelry making and sales. Staff members of the M.O.R.E. Project have seen an increase in self-confidence and self-worth among the children of the favelas. Sergio Ponce, President of the Brazilian M.O.R.E. Project and author of the new book “We Can Do So Much MORE,” writes, “I can assure you with all my heart that the M.O.R.E. Project is a supernatural thing. Since its origin, passing by the management of its actions and activities as well as, of course, its financial support, I can clearly see God’s hands in everything.” Looking toward the future, a new M.O.R.E. Project is currently under construction. MonaVie Village will be comprised of a central community and anticipates serving as a sanctuary for as many as 100 at-risk children. So far this year, the M.O.R.E. Project has raised over $2 million and supports roughly 1,275 people. The impoverished children and families of Brazil need your help. Can you do MORE? In Brig & Lita HART the MonaVie National Convention in September, every MonaVie Distributor had the opportunity to bid on four Smart Cars that were donated and auctioned off to benefit the M.O.R.E. Project. R3Global Distributors took on the challenge, both corporate and individually. The vehicles were awarded to those donating the largest amounts. R3Global is proud to announce that four of their Black Diamonds were awarded the Smart Cars for their generous donations.
