Mailing Systems Technology - July/August 2008 - (Page 49) business improve service and profitability by providing cuttingedge information. Mark co-founded RB Publishing in 1988 after he realized there was no information for mailing and shipping managers, thus creating Mailing Systems Technology. Since then, he has successfully kickedoff five additional publications to meet needs in the customer service areas of mailing, shipping and document processing as well as the fitness industry. Additionally, he co-founded the Parcel Shipping & Distribution Expo and led the company’s efforts in the creation of customer magazines for industry suppliers, such as Xerox, the U.S. Postal Service and Pitney Bowes. RENA SYSTEMS, INC. About Our Company Since its establishment as an envelope imaging company by Bodo von der Wense in 1984, Rena Systems, Inc. has become a leading innovator and provider of mail center automation products. Today, under the direction of Nick von der Wense, President, the company markets its imaging systems through a nationwide network of more than 200 independent dealers. Highlights of Rena Systems’ nearly 25 years: • The first direct-address printer. It used a dot matrix technology — before that, the industry was using labelers to apply pre-printed labels. • The first printer that could apply the Postnet barcode. Rena made printers capable of printing the barcode specs, based on what the Postal Service was using. •The first tabber, The Rena TL-100. Prior to that, there were no tabbing products in the U.S. Now, to get the best postal discounts, the tabs are required. • The first inkjet cartridge printer using HP technology. The Rena DA-600 model started the inkjet revolution. Before that, all print technology was dot matrix. • The first fixed head printer with digital robotic positioning and an automatic maintenance system that has a built-in inkjet cartridge cleaning unit and integrated capping station. In 2007, Rena became the exclusive distributor for Astro Machine Corporation’s tabletable top inkjet addressing equipment in North America. In addition, Rena distributes the full line of Astro tabletop tabbers, labelers and console inkjet equipment. “Rena Systems and Astro Machine are the only independent, privately owned companies left in the inkjet addressing business and it’s a natural fit for both companies,” stated Nick von der Wense. “It combines the two worlds of excellent equipment and highest quality service. Plus, we offer a complete line with products in every segment of the market including entry level, mid-range, and high-end products and everything in between.” RENA SYSTEMS, INC. 136 Green Tree Road, Suite 140 PO Box 1069 Oaks, PA 19456-1069 Web: www.renausa.com Phone: (888) 444-RENA Email: sales@renausa.com NICK VON DER WENSE President | WHO’S WHO 2008 WWW.MAILINGSYSTEMSTECHNOLOGY.COM 49 20 0 8 WH O’S WH O My vision is to help http://www.renausa.com http://www.renausa.com http://www.mailingsystemstechnology.com
