Spine is neutral, neither arched nor flattened; arms are by the sides. ACTION: To prepare, inhale… ·Exhale — Keep the Toning Balls stationary under the feet. Start from the tailbone, and slowly peel the spine off the mat until the hips are lifted and weight is resting between the shoulder blades. ·Inhale — Hold position, keeping hips lifted and abs tight. ·Exhale — Start from top of the spine, and slowly return to the mat, lowering to starting position. Complete five to eight repetitions. CAT STRETCH [LENGTHENS SPINAL MUSCLES] START: Kneel with equal weight on hands and knees, knees apart slightly, hands directly under shoulders, and knees directly under hips. Spine is in a neutral position, neither arched nor flattened. ACTION: To prepare, inhale ·Exhale — Start from the tailbone and round spine, allowing the head to bend toward mat. ·Inhale — Hold position, and tighten abdominal muscles. ·Exhale — Start from tailbone, and return spine to starting position. Bring the head up last, but keep the eyes looking down. Complete three to five repetitions. OBLIQUES [TARGETS OBLIQUE ABDOMINALS] START: Lean back against the Mini Flex-Ball with the ball at mid-back. Knees are bent and hip-distance apart, hands behind the head. ACTION: To prepare, inhale ·Exhale — Rotate upper torso toward one side. ·Inhale — Return to starting position. Complete five repetitions on each side, alternating between sides.
