The new Philips MRI scanner aims to deliver high quality diagnostic images for even the most demanding high-field applications such as breast and liver imaging. Capturing the correct information on the first scan in a shorter amount of time delivers more convenience to the patient and increases patient throughput potential for healthcare providers. Additionally the new scanner provides consistent results across a broad range of clinical applications and patient sizes. Dr. Paul J. Chang takes us beyond the reading room to identify the bottlenecks in the radiology imaging cycle and apply solutions to close the loop on imaging. Web-based PACS is the model for lower cost, more accessible workflow. As PACS vendors continue to introduce new Web-based solutions, what does it mean to the end user, how does it impact functionality and workflow, and how widely will it be adopted? In the issue, experts share their vision of Web-based PACS becoming the dominant model. Ziosoft’s advanced visualization and analysis software for CT brain perfusion is accessible to clinicians throughout the enterprise using the Ziostation thin-client system. The brain perfusion application includes image manipulation features and measurement tools such as cerebral blood volume, blood flow and mean transit time. Ziosoft’s brain perfusion application provides radiologists with decision support tools to help them assess the type and extent of cerebral perfusion disturbance whether viewed in a hospital or at a remote location, offering physicians flexibility and efficiency in viewing solutions. Ziosoft Inc. | www.ziosoft.com SonoSite Rolls Out S-Women’s Health Ultrasound Tool SonoSite’s S-Women’s Health ultrasound tool is designed to enable women’s health clinicians to provide comprehensive care in the patient exam room. The new addition to SonoSite’s S Series product line joins the M-OB/Gyn Office and the S-Gyn ultrasound tools. The S-Women’s Health tool reportedly has a simple interface designed for ease of use. Buttons, dials and menus have been eliminated from the interface, with the exception of two controls - depth and gain - for acquiring the optimum image quality. Proprietary advanced technologies, SonoHD and SonoMB, are incorporated, and said to provide very clear imaging, enabling the physician to visualize minute details.
