He retired in 2011 as owner of Chase Industrial for 31 years, and attended the Barnard School for Boys reunion held at HM in June 2015. 1972 Dr. Anthony Elias continues as Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado. In addition to caring for patients with breast cancer and sarcoma, he is an active translational investigator with grants studying the role of androgen acceptors in breast cancer and is involved with many clinical trials. He also plays violin with orchestra and chamber music groups. In January 2016 he became a firsttime grandfather to Julian, who, weighing in at 21 lbs at 5 months, is nicknamed Eliasaurus. 1973 Henry Gitenstein wrote: "Hard to believe it has been a year since we downsized. Older son Eric and his wife Nicole moved to Portland, OR. Last year, Eric was runner-up on a Food Network show, and was offered the Executive Chef position at a restaurant in Portland. In less than a year, he won several Best of Portland awards. He hung up the brick and mortar life and bought a food truck to serve up cemitas, a Mexican torta. Eric's last two years in Phoenix were spent at Gallo Blanco and Otro, both restaurants winning Best Mexican Food in Phoenix while he was there. Younger son Max is happily living in Oslo as a Landscape Architect. He is designing the new irrigation and landscaping for a town in Western Norway, and recently completed a project near "The Barcode" in Oslo. He loves living in Scandinavia, speaks fluent Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish, and enjoys Norway's mandatory five weeks of vacation. Harriet has been at Taliesin West for over 10 years, and continues to give special tours, as well as run the office for the Foundation. I've completed 15 years at Oracle. We recently celebrated our 34th Anniversary. Bill Smith helped Horace Mann School celebrate the 50th anniversary of its John Dorr Nature Laboratory by sending Dorr Director Glenn Sherratt 16 mm film Smith shot at Dorr in the 1970s. Sherratt and Dorr Assistant Director Nick DePreter incorporated Bill's footage into videos marking the anniversary. I have created the Jewish Sports Heritage Association, Inc., a not-for-profit organization with the mission of educating the public about the role Jewish men and women have played in sports, and at the same time show Jewish youth that there isn't anything that they can't do." The inaugural issue of the organization's magazine Jewish Sports Heritage contained a notice about The Mike Freedman Outstanding Jewish High School Athlete of the Year Award. "Many of you knew Mike (HM '69) in high school and knew how good an athlete he was. This is another way (in addition to the Golf Outing) to honor and remember Mike. There are awards for the outstanding male and female students-from anywhere in the U.S. I wanted to make you aware of this and hope you will let others know about the award and the organization. Related to this issue were soccer awards, one of which was 'The Lifetime Achievement in Soccer Award.' Todd Morrison shared the news that his horse, Royal Asset, won at Saratoga Race Course in summer 2015: "It's always nice to have a winner at the Spa. Royal Asset made the Morrison family very happy when he poked his neck out to win Saratoga's seventh race on August 10, 2015. Kudos to Trainer Wesley Ward and Jockey Joel Rosario." Kim Belton was one of 12 former studentathletes inducted into the Pac-12 Conference Men's Basketball Hall of Honor on March 12, 2016. The induction ceremony was held prior to the championship game at the 2016 Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The inductees were also recognized at the game's halftime. A producer for ESPN/ABC, where he oversees several NBA and men's college basketball studio shows and event broadcasts for the network, Kim was a standout performer for Stanford from 1977-80. A three-time AllPac-10 honoree, he ranks among the top-seven in both scoring and rebounding in Stanford history. As one of 40 players in school history to reach 1,000 career points, his total of 1,615 ranks seventh all-time. Belton was a standout in the classroom as well, and was recognized as a Second Team Academic All-American in 1980.
