But just when you think the lady’s building an oeuvre around being wronged, here comes “My Life Would Suck Without You,” a hooky, conciliatory powerhouse along the lines of the aptly-titled Breakaway’s string of hits. The point is, Clarkson and beau are both trainwrecks, and somehow, they work together. That’s maturity. We’re glad KC’s in a good place, and equally thrilled there’s no controversy leading up to this fourth album, which must be a relief to her and Sony BMG head Clive Davis, who notoriously butted heads over My December’s content.
