Insulated copper bus bars are preinstalled on the raceway and the plug-in can be snapped into place without having to interrupt power. Units are available in 20-, 40-, and 60-amps busing. Customizable lengths of raceway up to 10 ft are available. The system is tested to meet NEC and UL standards and bears the ETL mark. www.uecorp.com #1 Gas detector The S4000CH combustible gas detector from General Monitors features a precision catalytic bead sensor, which provides accurate safety monitoring in harsh conditions. The detectors have built-in HART instrumentation to facilitate two-way digital communication without disturbing the integrity of the 4 to 20 mA analog signal. The unit is equipped with relay contacts to indicate an alarm- or faultcondition. The unit has four operating modes to perform setup, measure gas concentration, check the system, and initialize calibration. www.generalmonitors.com #2 Plenum fan The QEM plenum fan from Greenheck features a 12-blade airfoil wheel that reduces energy consumption and sound levels. The unit has a compact footprint that requires less space for installation. The fan is available in both belt- and direct-drive configurations. Accessories include inlet guards, protective cages, and isolators. The belt-drive unit is licensed to bear the AMCA seal for sound and air performance. www.greenheck.com #3 56 Consulting-Specifying Engineer • AUGUST 2008 http://www.csemag.com/quickResponse http://www.uecorp.com http://www.generalmonitors.com http://www.greenheck.com
