LIVING IN THE DESERT Dehydration can be a problem as your body continually loses water in the dry, clear air. You may not even be aware as sometimes perspiration evaporates even before its formed. So, carry water when you travel – even around town in the summer. Drink water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Arizona is famous for its sunshine, but be careful. It takes as little as 15 minutes outside at noon for skin to redden. Apply sunscreen to protect against sunburn and skin cancer.
