RIMS 2009 Conference Program - (Page 6) RIMS GoeS GReen RIMS is committed to protecting the environment and encourages attendees to follow suit. The Orange County Convention Center is nationally recognized for its green initiatives and RIMS will be working closely with the Center to support and execute their programs throughout the conference. All promotional materials (including this program!), signs and banners will be produced on eco-friendly materials. Recycling bins will be available throughout the convention center. Drinking cups and water coolers or pitchers will be available for attendees, as opposed to plastic bottles. Excess food will be donated to local charities and RIMS will use silverware and cloth or recycled paper napkins rather than Styrofoam, plastic dishes and utensils, where appropriate. To reduce energy consumption, lighting, heat and air conditioning will be turned off when not needed. We challenge all attendees to walk from nearby hotels, ride RIMS Shuttle Buses or carpool rather than driving alone. Together we can reduce the environmental impact of RIMS 2009.
