Rural Missouri - January 2018 - 29
I Love My Truck
hether they are car-cushing monsters or rustedout hulks, rural people love their trucks. They haul
livestock to the county fair or mulch for the suburban
landscape. Some are customized low riders, while
others are rustbuckets of questonable ancestry kept alive with
duct tape and baling wire.
Our trucks are fitted out with all manner of accessories to
help their owners earn a living: dump beds, snow plows, bucket
lifts. When they start, they are our trusted companions.
A good truck is almost a requirement for rural living. That's
why Rural Missouri wants to honor the best trucks in the state,
whether they are hard-workers or just for show.
How much do you love your truck? If you think it is worthy of
recognition, enter it in our first-ever "I Love My Truck Contest."
To enter, go to www.ruralmissouri.coop/ilovemytruck.php
and upload a photo along with a description of your cherished
truck. We will pick winners in four categories - prettiest truck,
ugliest truck, classic truck and work truck - and present
them with a trophy, along with a $500 Visa cash card good for
anything your faithful ride might need. Winners will be featured
in the April 2018 edition of Rural Missouri.
Besides the uniqueness of your truck, we will also consider
the quality of the photo, the stories behind the trucks and how
well they fit the category. You can enter your truck in multiple
categories but can only win once.
Deadline to enter is Feb. 1. Good luck to you and your truck!
