SAE Foundation The SAE Foundation was honored to receive the 2009 Golden Torch Corporate/Education Partnership Award from the NSBE. The award was presented for SAE International’s collaboration with NSBE in forming the Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) program. SEEK uses SAE International’s award-winning A World in Motion® curriculum to teach science, technology, engineering, and math to inner-city youths. The SAE Foundation funded more than 60 award and recognition programs. Included in these are six awards that specifically recognize achievements in education. In 2009, 25 individuals received these honors: • Gary Dickinson Award for Teaching Excellence • Excellence in Engineering Education • Faculty Advisor Award • Lloyd Reuss Award for Teaching Excellence • Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award • William Agnew Award for Outstanding AWIM Volunteers The SAE Foundation also funded award scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate engineering students. These scholarships assist in developing the future engineering workforce by helping students achieve their dreams of becoming an engineer and encourage academic excellence and help students around the world to pursue their passion for engineering.
