Review Institute (PRI) was able to expand its service to industry in 2009.
to ensure that PRI staff and auditors would not have access to export controlled materials. These changes resulted in the Institute receiving official notification that audits are not subject to licensing jurisdiction by the U.S. Department of State. PRI launched eQuaLified in 2009 as an industry, recognized, special process personnel-qualification system that includes training courses conducted by industry experts and supplemented by qualification assessments. The disciplines covered include heat treating, NDT, welding and chemical processes. The training schedule for 2010 includes domestic locations in Arizona and Washington, and overseas locations in China, France, India and the U.K. The SAE Institute operates as a trade association serving the automotive, aerospace and commercial vehicle sectors. As an affiliate of SAE International, the SAE Institute provides a range of solutions for clients in the aerospace, automotive and
Nadcap conducted 4,400 audits and PRI Registrar conducted 540 last year. This represents a 10 percent growth in each area. More than 40 percent of Nadcap’s audits were outside North America. In addition, PRI held key management level meetings in China, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey and the U.K. PRI successfully completed an 18-month effort on International Traffic in Arms/Export Administration Regulations compliance. The effort was important to the PRI and the aerospace industry in light of the number of audits conducted internationally. Extensive changes were made to processes and procedures designed
