At the close of 2009, SAE International’s membership
receive exclusive industry news alerts and technical information. In addition, SAE International will debut a new Member Rewards Program designed to acknowledge and encourage member contributions to SAE and the industry. This program is a first-of-itskind for professional associations, and will help enhance the benefits enjoyed by SAE International’s most active members. Members now will earn valuable rewards in addition to the benefits and skills they receive by volunteering for SAE International committees, working with SAE Sections or chairing and/or organizing events. SAE International’s Sections play a key role in the organization’s success. Active Sections help to provide local, customized learning opportunities for SAE International members around the U.S. and the world.
was 128,000 strong, representing 100 nations. Recognizing that members are its most important asset, in 2009 SAE International began the most profound change regarding membership in its history. The changes entailed creating an entirely new and innovative membership model. Through member feedback including focus groups and surveys, along with committee involvement, SAE International created a membership model that enables professional members to customize their membership by selecting from more than one level of membership. The new levels provide different member benefit options covering all stages of a mobility engineering professional’s career. The new model also will include a members-only SAE Website that provides the ability to connect with technical experts worldwide, and
