2018 and Programming Each
Other will begin development.
The Cybersecurity Challenge
deepens middle school
students' understanding of
the architecture of the internet
and how it was designed to
withstand both physical and
electronic attacks. The
SAE Foundation has also
partnered to develop a
scaffolded sequence of
online professional learning
experiences to support taking
local, regional, and national
AWIM training to scale and
broadening the outreach
and impact of professional
learning designs through
community-based teacher
micro-credentialing. This project
will expand to include all
AWIM challenges and provide
a research-based platform for
the next generation of teacher
professional development.

to bring their awardwinning program
to the classroom.

The Arconic Foundation, formerly known as
the Alcoa Foundation, has generously supported A
World In Motion for the past 12 years. They are currently
supporting the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
in Ohio with both funding and volunteers. Their support
provides students with high-quality STEM programming
that ignites their interest in science, technology,
engineering and math, and provides training for
teachers that increases their comfort level with teaching
these subjects.

"To teach is to learn twice."
This is the philosophy behind the Learn Twice Initiative.
This program encourages university students to volunteer
for A World In Motion programs. These students teach
and advise younger learners on STEM concepts like force,
friction, and motion and gain a better understanding of
how these concepts are integrated and applied to their
own studies.
Toyota generously supports the Learn Twice Initiative
making it possible for over 18 Collegiate Design Teams
(CDS) from 11 universities to participate in the A World In
Motion program in 2017.

For 25 years BorgWarner has
supported the SAE Foundation
and through that valued partnership we have been able
to reach thousands of students with a quality STEM
education experience. We are expanding our relationship
to support additional US classrooms in Michigan, Indiana
and South Carolina and also in Brazil, Canada, China,
Hungary, Mexico, South Korea, Sweden and the UK.
The focus will be on some of the youngest learners Kindergarteners - implementing the AWIM Rolling
Things challenge and including strong BorgWarner
employee participation in each location. Together we
are working to increase the number of students who
pursue educational and career paths in STEMrelated fields globally.
