HEATCON® Composite Systems has introduced the HCS8800 series “Micro Bonder”, a compact and portable composite curing controller designed to accomplish localized repairs on composite structures or for use in other composite curing/training applications. Features • Sunlight Readable 2.8 in. LCD Graphic Display • Vacuum Monitoring Capability • Four Type J Thermocouples • 4-Key Operator Interface • USB Data Connection and Download • Integrated Circuit Breaker and Power Switch • Adjustable Audible Alarm For more information, visit: http://heatcon.com. Airtech Advanced Materials Group introduces the new Premium AQD SS 545CL quick disconnect made from stainless steel with high temperature “O-Rings” for service to 500°F (260°C). The unique locking system will prevent accidental openings. The stainless steel construction along with an increased number of ball bearings provides a smoother operation and long service life. The Premium AQD SS 545CL quick disconnect has two way shut-off fittings. When they are disconnected, the air flow is shut off in both the plug and the socket. This allows your vac valves to remain under vacuum pressure after the vacuum source has been disconnected. Parts can then be moved from the bagging area to the curing area without loss of vacuum. The Premium AQD SS 545CL is a rugged, dependable disconnect that can be installed in minutes when used with Airtech Vac Valves. The Premium AQD SS 545CL comes with a threaded female fitting designed to receive our airflow autoclave and oven hoses. For more information, visit: www.airtechonline.com. Firehole Composites has launched Helius:MCT v4.0, the newest edition of the finite element add-on built to significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of composite structural analysis. Building on the strength of its multiscale and progressive failure technologies, version 4.0 now offers unique solutions to the challenges of delamination and FEA mesh dependency. The new cohesive functionality incorporated in Helius:MCT v4.0 extends the same technology that gives Helius:MCT a unique computational advantage in progressive failure to cohesive layers. With the release of Helius:MCT v4.0, Firehole Composites introduces a robust solution able to model the simultaneous evolution of composite material failure and delamination, offering a complete solution to the composite engineer. A second analysis hurdle addressed by version 4.0 is the mesh-size dependency of an FE solution. Often an analyst may find considerable variability in their solution depending on the size of their mesh. Helius:MCT addresses this problem by incorporating an energy-based damage law that accounts for mesh size as it predicts damage evolution. For more information, visit: www.firehole.com. C. A. Litzler Co., Inc. is pleased to announce that it has acquired the technical assets of Western Advanced Engineering Company (WAECO) of Orange, California. WAECO is a worldwide supplier of custom hot-melt prepreg machines. WAECO prepreg machines are used by companies to produce high quality unidirectional and woven prepregs. Litzler has supplied solution style prepreg machines since

1959 as well as Carbon Fiber Oxidation Ovens and complete Carbon Fiber systems. WAECO machines include systems for development and production situations from 12” to 60” wide machines including on-line and off-line filmers as well as a unique and patent pending Thermoplastic prepreg machine. WAECO is the originator of the “S-wrap”™ prepreg process. This process has advanced the prepreg process to a reliable and repeatable process and has removed it from the “black art” arena. The “S-wrap”™ machine can increase production up to 100 fpm on a standard machine. Typical competing designs are only useful up to 15 fpm. Litzler includes an organization with a large staff of mechanical and electrical engineers, multiple manufacturing facilities, full-time service staff in US and China as well as an experienced sales staff. For more information, visit: www.calitzler.com or www. waeco1.com. Precision Quincy’s model #49C-650D is an electrically heated oven, available in NFPA 86 Class ‘A’ or Class ‘B’ configuration. Known for its ability to successfully process a wide range of materials, the 49C-650D is a popular choice among heat processors for most curing/drying/pre-heating needs. The 49C-650D’s compact design features two independent oven chambers (stacked one above the other), each with separate controls, and sharing a single dampered exhaust system. A robust piece of equipment, the 49C650D weighs in at 1,180 lbs. with two internal working spaces of 32” x 18” D x 18” H and exterior dimensions of 43” W x 29” D x 45” H. The oven is capable of reaching and maintaining a maximum temperature of 650°F. An optional matching heavy duty stand (shown) provides a stable base that adds an extra 24” to the overall height of the oven; a useful feature making for easier product loading and removal. All of Precision Quincy’s ovens meet or exceed NFPA-86, NFPA-70, OSHA & UL requirements and are factory wired, tested and balanced before shipping to ensure quick, trouble-free start-ups. For more information, visit: www.precisionquincy.com. Richmond Aerovac is pleased to announce the introduction of a new material, P720X, which can be used in lieu of PVF as a contact material for fiber placement, automatic tape placement and drape forming applications. The material is approved through major aerospace process specifications for use in contact with traditional aerospace tape or fiber placement applications where the preform is built up on a polymer contact sheet and subsequently drape formed or cut to net shape prior to cure. The P720X is ideal as a carrier film and barrier layer to protect the preform during processing and is designed to be discarded prior to final component cure. The 0.002” (50 micron) thickness matte white material is available in the following roll sizes and can also be slit and rewound to suit individual customer project requirements: 60”x500’ per roll (1.52mx152m) Net weight 37lbs (16.8kg) 72”x500’ per roll (1.83mx152m) Net weight 44lbs (20kg) 60”x1000’ per roll (1.52mx304m) Net weight 74lbs (33.6kg) 72”x800’ per roll (1.83mx244m) Net weight 70lbs (31.7kg) Wider films up to 200” available upon request For more information, visit: www.richmondaircraft.com.
