highlight exhibiting areas are designed with themes
on digital solution showcase for advanced composite
materials and safety protection. More than 150 exhibitors
from China, United States, UK, France, Germany, Sweden,
Italy, Israel, Japan, Korea have booked space.

AMPE China organized several member delegates
who attended the SAMPE Europe Summit 2017 in
Paris. The presentations on automotive, advanced
materials, advanced manufacturing and aerospace were
very nice and helpful for the technology development
and advanced composite materials applications. SAMPE
has a long history, global community and networking for
advanced material and process engineering, and it is also
a good platform to enhance the technical communication
for our global members, so as to benefit the world's
science development. In addition to attending the Summit,
the delegates also visited Fokker in the Netherlands,
and combined to organize a seminar on Thermoplastic
Composites. On Monday, we visited BMW in Landshut
and Krauss-Maffei in Munich to discuss composite
structures mass fabrication and high volume technology
for applications in the automotive industry.

Meanwhile, I would like to say something about the
upcoming SAMPE China 2017 event in Beijing. The
exhibiting space is increasing to 11,000 sqm this year and
all the booths have been reserved prior to March 20th. The
exhibiting scope focus is on: design, analysis, simulation,
optimize technology, high-performance fibers, thermoset/

The international conference has 5 keynote speakers from
Germany, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The presentations
focus on low cost carbon fiber manufacturing, automotive
application technology, general aviation application
and industry application trends. There are more than 25
sessions organized by different companies, institutes and
universities. These technologies are: advanced material
and manufacturing technology, automotive light-weight,
SAC session, international student paper competition,
materials genome technology, high performance fiber
and composite materials, high performance resin system,
micro/ nano-composites, thermoplastic composites, smart
composites, C/C composites, automatic fabrication, testing
and analysis technology, efficient processing and assembly
technology, light weight technology for automobile,
general aviation applications, space applications, UAV
applications, marine applications, safety applications,
composite wind blades performance evaluation and
engineering application, infrastructure application,
aero-engine application, 3D printing technology, coating
technology, etc.
Except for the student bridge and wing contests, the
highlight workshop this year is an industrial DIY
competition. The product is an automotive using battery
shell, 18 teams joined the designing and processing
competition. More light, cost reduction, meeting
mechanical property one will be the final winner.
