Here are a few of the many hotels renovating throughout the city: • San Antonio’s Marriott Rivercenter (a 1,000-room property) and Marriott Riverwalk (a 514-room property) hotels will welcome visitors with $45 million in renovations by early to mid-2008. Both hotels will undergo renovations to dramatically change the look and feel of the lobbies, restaurants, and seating areas. The Marriott Rivercenter will also upgrade 60,000 square feet of meeting space. “The renovation will solidify the hotels’ reputations as two of the most sought-after hotels by meeting planners and leisure travelers alike,” says Arthur Coulombe, Area General Manager. • The St. Anthony Hotel, a Wyndham Historic Hotel in downtown San Antonio, has begun a $12 million restoration program to include all of its meeting areas, public spaces and 352 guest rooms. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2008. • The 632-room Hyatt Regency Riverwalk, built in 1981, completed a $16 million renovation in 2004 but has more recently invested in the hotel’s guest experience by providing high-tech kiosks for checking in/ out and printing boarding passes and Wi-Fi access in most guest rooms, lobbies and public areas. In 2006, the Hyatt added a 2,700 square foot spa featuring relaxing massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. This $1 million plus addition completed in the first quarter of 2007 is nestled among mesquite and oak trees where 38 casitas with separate entries and private patios entertain guests with fireplaces and elaborate bathrooms that include marble floors, oversized European bathtubs and large showers. • In 2005, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa invested over $10 million in improving the luxuroius feel of their guest rooms.
