This new platform promises that San Antonio’s charm and authentic offerings will take root—Deep. In the Heart. Capturing the essence of San Antonio in four words was no easy feat; but the symbolism of “deep” and “heart” infers that the city will move you in the most emotional of ways. This leaves the door open to expand on exactly how San Antonio will move you—with art, culture, cuisine, adventure and so much more. San Antonio Debuts New Logo It’s the oldest, newest shape around—the quatrefoil. You’ll find this distinct four-sided symbol throughout San Antonio, from the corner of your eyes on buildings and bridges, as well as beneath your feet along the River Walk. As part of the lore and legend of the city, this shape is being embraced as the heart of a reinvigorated San Antonio—a historic city where the best is yet to come. The new San Antonio logo emanates romance with a passionate corazón red which represents the city’s heart and the manner in which visitors are welcomed con corazón “with heart.” The shape itself is prevalent in Spanish colonial architecture and symbolizes good tidings. One of San Antonio’s most beloved quatrefoils can be found in the Rose Window at Mission San José, an eighteenth century mission (part of San Antonio’s famous Mission Trail) that helped claim this region for New Spain. The quatrefoil has also become intrinsic to contemporary San Antonio, appearing across the city in modern architecture and artistic applications. It illuminates from the iron-work of downtown light fixtures; it’s etched into ceilings and tiles; and now it emanates from San Antonio’s new logo as an invitation for all to come and experience the city’s warm and authentic culture. Bold Campaign Built Upon Rich City Culture The four leaves of the San Antonio quatrefoil represent the four pillars upon which this new brand has been built: People, Pride, Passion and Promise. These are the staples of San Antonio’s inspiring culture. Heart-Felt Debut a Big Success San Antonio’s new brand debuted on February 14th to emphasize the city’s passion for arts, culture and hospitality. Rebranding included a newlydesigned visitsanantonio.com with revamped Meeting and Tourism Professionals sections. 30,000 yellow roses were given to people throughout San Antonio to celebrate the commencement of Deep. In the Heart. Over 400 couples exchanged vows at mass weddings at the River Walk's Arneson Theatre—the celebration was hosted by the city to celebrate the passionate identity of San Antonio’s new brand. San Antonio’s heart-felt unveiling captured national attention from a Times Square billboard to national radio and television exposure. The people of San Antonio have an inviting nature that makes meeting in this city an unforgettable experience. From an exquisite mélange of cultures—artists and entrepreneurs have become a part of the landscape. You’ll find them in the plazas of a Mexican market, in cafes along the River Walk and throughout San Antonio. A distinct part of San Antonio’s identity is found in the pride of its citizens. Drawn from a deep-rooted history and fueled by the progress of tomorrow, a love of the city exudes in the culture of San Antonio. Whether in a historic arts district or the warm welcome extended to delegates, pride finds a personal and public place throughout the very fiber of the city. San Antonio is a city rich with passion; passion for arts, culture, sports and entertainment. Whether artist, chef, golf pro or local merchant, the people of San Antonio show passion for what they do. This is the most valuable of souvenirs, a keepsake that will be long remembered.
