The evening 30 Days of Discovery Cultural treasures lay at our community’s fingertips, yet to be discovered. Sarasota, long known as the state’s cultural coast, invites Florida residents to experience its unique venues during September’s “30 Days of Discovery”. Seven museums throughout the area will feature “buy one, get one free” admission prices the entire month, to increase education and enrichment for people of all ages. “We hope to see many Sarasota-area residents taking advantage of this promotion, as our attractions bring new ways to discover to the public each year. September will offer locals a chance to visit a venue for the first time or explore new happenings at their favorites,” says Virginia Haley, President of the Sarasota Convention and Visitors Bureau. Anticipate the extraordinary at the following participating museums: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Almost 10 acres of bay-front grounds include an openair and under-glass museum of more than 20,000 colorful plants, many collected from scientific expeditions into the tropics and rainforests. Children can delight in the indoor “rainforest” and adults can enjoy the living collection of over 6,000 orchids, among countless other visual treats. This 66-acre estate on Sarasota Bay was established in 1927 as a legacy to the renowned John Ringling.
