Palm Ave. As part of the Summer Showcase Exhibit, “Works on Paper” showcases one of America’s most famous illustrators, Sarasota’s own Ben Stahl (1910-1987). This historic collection of over 40 works on paper is in charcoal, pastel, pencil, and mixed media. Stahl was a renowned artist, writer and teacher, who co-founded “The Famous Artist Schools”. Katharine Butler Gallery, 1943 Morrill St. This exhibit combines recent artwork by all 18 of the gallery’s featured artists, like Howard Cowdrick, Brennan King and Norine Zapata, among others. World’s Largest Miniature Circus. Ringling Circus Museum. Tibbals Learning Center, 5500 Bay Shore Rd. 10am-5pm. The Howard Bros. Circus Model, the largest miniature circus in the world, is on permanent display in the Ringling Circus Museum’s Tibbals Learning Center. The 3,800-square-foot model features 55 railroad cars, 8 main circus tents, 130 circus wagons, 200-animal menagerie and 1,500 artists and workers, and is an authentic replica of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus during the late 1920’s to the early 1930’s.
