At his studio in Rochester, New York, he and his staff work in a variety of metalworking disciplines. Albert Paley is the first metal sculptor to receive the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects, the AIA’s highest award to a non-architect. 1 Andrew Arvanetes, USA > TIN MAN Growing up near Chicago in the 1960s, Andrew Arvanetes was exposed to a wide range of experiences. From the “Unisphere” to the General Motors “Futurama” exhibit, many trips to the fair created a lasting impression. Memories of these experiences continue to play an important role in the imagery found in Arvanetes’ sculptures. 2 Barry Hehemann, USA > BENCH #9 Barry Hehemann is an artist residing and working in Chicago, Illinois. Hehemann is the co-owner of Vector Custom Fabricating Inc., a company specializing in architectural elements, monumental stairs, railings and sculpture. Hehemann has exhibited widely throughout the Midwest since 1988. 3 Bruce White, USA > SORCERER’S GATE Bruce White splits his time between Dekalb, Illinois and Nokomis, Florida.
